Strange expired card causing Apple Pay decline on iPhone 15

iPhone 15: a Strange expired card has appeared in my payment & shipping tab and the edit is not working so can’t delete it or add another card. my valid cards are in the wallet but not showing up in payments and today Apple Payments have been declined. Have worked perfectly before.

Cards that appear in Payment & Shipping are associated with your Apple Account. Cards in your Wallet are for use with Apple Pay (Tap-To-Pay) and wouldn’t necessarily be associated with your Apple Account unless you added them.

When you try to add a different card to Payment & Shipping, what happens? If you receive an error message, what exactly does it say?
