Contacts with additional Pronoun and Gender field - how to disable

A few years ago I noticed that Apple had added "Gender" and other fields to my contacts. How can I disable these across my 250+ contacts? I am concerned because these fields just take up additonal storage and these fields are totally useless. I know what gender my contact "John" is.

The gender does not show up in your 250+ contacts unless there is one assigned to it, so no worries about extra storage required. The only time you would ever see a gender option is when you Edit or Add a new contact and you certainly do not need to use it. There is no storage space taken for a field that is not used in a Contact.
