New basses- articulations not working? (slap, pop )

I'm trying to program using Logic's new Slap & Pop Dark bass, but the articulations for slaps and pops do not sound accurate- they just sound like regular fingerpicked notes- and I'm wondering if I'm missing something RE how to get these to sound right , e.g. maybe they only trigger at certain velocities? Doesn't seem to make a difference, having tried a few different velocities.

Same with all the slide and "slide in" articulations - I'm not hearing anything that sounds like a slide, just regular single notes. Clearly I'm not understanding something about how to use this MIDI.

I can't find any tutorials on YT ; please help. Thanks!
