Sonos and smart home devices not working on 2.4 Wi-Fi after switching to 5g

My Sonos and a few other smart home devices only work on 2.4. When 5g kicks on I can’t control anything. Xfinity isn’t any help their AI sucks! Getting a human to talk to is almost impossible.

Original Title: 2.4 WiFi switches to 5g automaticity when going outside and a short distance from the house.

well not all devices support 5ghz


though most wifi routers worth their salt allow you to configure the 2 wifi network types (and wires ethernet) to be bridged so it's transparent to devices they are not communicating with devices not using the same frequency.


how or if one can bridge networks with your xfinity router I can't say
