Different Serial Numbers on New Apple Watch (Chinese Variant) - Box vs. Device

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a brand new Apple Watch (Chinese variant) from an authorized retailer here in Bangladesh. I'm very happy with the watch, but I've noticed a strange discrepancy and wanted to see if anyone in the community has experience with this.

When I checked the serial number on the box, it is: D22******F4

However, after setting up the watch, the serial number shown in the Apple Watch app on my iPhone and in the watch's settings (Settings > General > About) is: CT9*****TY

I used Apple's "Check Coverage" tool with both serial numbers, and surprisingly, both are showing the same warranty expiration date of 2 June 2025 .

I understand that the serial number on the box is for packaging and logistics, while the one on the device is for the hardware itself. However, I've never seen a situation where both numbers are valid and show the same coverage period.

Is this a known behavior for Apple products, especially for the Chinese variants? Could this be a result of their manufacturing and supply chain process, where the box and device serials are linked in Apple's system?

I just want to be sure that my new watch is a genuine, new product and that there isn't any issue I should be concerned about.

Any insights from the community would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.
