Internal SSD replacement for a kernel panic repair. Worth paging it?

I have a 2014 Macbook pro that’s experiencing kernel panics, specifically after coming back from sleep mode. I tried all the basic solutions, nothing worked. The reports indicated a problem on the hardware/GPU(I0AcceleratorFamily2).

I sent to a local repair and they suggested replacing the local SSD. Can this be the cause? Is it worth trying it?

Run the third party app EtreCheck and post the complete report here. It should include summaries of the Kernel Panics which can sometimes be enough to identify the source. If not, we can have you post a few of those Kerenel Panic logs.

FYI, GPU panics generally only occurred with the 15" models and were not as common on the 2014 model.

A failing SSD can certainly cause a Kernel Panic when powering on the laptop or waking it from sleep. The Kernel Panic logs would be able to show if this is the case.
