Logic Pro with Behringer X-Touch One.

Hi. I’m using Logic Pro 11.2 on a 2023 Mac mini M2Pro, MacOS Sequoia 15.5, with a Behringer X-Touch One controller. For the most part the Behringer works pretty well but I have an annoying issue with the Record and Stop button lights.

When playback is stopped, press play, the play button lights up.

In playback, press stop, the stop button lights up, play turns off.

In playback, press record, the record button lights up, play stays lit.

All of which is as I would expect. But…

When playback is stopped, press record, ONLY the play button lights up, record does not.

When recording, press stop, the playback button turns off, record turns off (if it was on), stop does not light up.

In other words, record and stop lights only work if the buttons are pressed when in play. Record doesn’t light if pressed in stop, and stop doesn’t light if pressed in record.

Everything happens as expected in terms of control of Logic Pro, ie it records, plays and stops as expected. But this behaviour seems to be consistent.

I’ve tried rebuilding defaults, I’ve tried deleting com.apple.logic.pro.cs in Library/Preferences. I’ve even tried other control surfaces which produce similar results. I’ve submitted a bug report with Behringer, but I thought it was worth asking here as well in case anyone else has come across this. It’s not the end of the world but it’s very annoying.

Many thanks!

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 15.5

I don’t have a solution for your issue but here’s a clue. I use Behringer’s x-touch and two x-touch extenders with Logic. Things were working perfectly UNTIL I updated Logic to 11.2 and macOS to 15.5. I’m not sure which update broke things. Then just like you weird things started happening. The problem is somewhere in Logic and or macOS not the x-touch itself. Neither you (I presume) or I have done any firmware updates on our devices so the devices haven’t changed. Also, I have contacted Behringer Support. The x-touch one and the others in the series get their working orders from the DAW and operating system alone. In the case of Logic Pro if you delete both the com.apple.logic.pro.cs and perform Rebuild Defaults in Logic there is nothing you or I can do further. The device’s firmware cannot change on its own. We have to wait for Apple to fix things.

Thanks Calcon, that's helpful.

I'd already upgraded to Logic 11.2 and macOS 15.5 before I got the X-Touch One last week. It's good to know your X-Touch did work before one or both updates broke stuff. So it looks like it's not my gear and I'm not the only one!

I had an email from Behringer today too asking for a video of the issue, which I've sent them.

Hopefully there will be a fix for this soon. I knew it was worth asking the question here!
