Photos suddenly blurry on iPhone XR (iOS 18.5) and stay low-res when shared

My photos are all suddenly blurry! When I share the photos, they are still blurry / low res when they arrive on a Macbook, so this this doesn't seem to be a low storage space problem. Is it just what happens to the lens on an old phone?

Do your iPhone and your Mac each have at least 10% of its storage free? If not, it may not be possible for the phone to transfer or delete pictures.

Are you using iCloud to synchronize your Photos Libraries? If so, how do the pictures look at iCloud.com? Do you use Optimize Storage on either device?
