iMessage is not working on M2 MacBook Pro

iMessage is not working on M2 MacBook Pro.

OS 15.5.

iMessage is turned on in iCloud.

Won't sync messages.

Won't sync photos.

Didn't receive the notification to sign in to this support community on this device, but I did get it on the iphone.

I can manually sync and it will pull everything in. On either device.

This just started a few hours ago.

I'm stumped.

Please help.

If you haven't already: You may want to try re-starting your Mac :

eg click Apple menu > choose "Restart" wait while Mac restarts, and log back in..

(ie: deletes temporary files, re-establishes connections, may update recent setting changes etc., and often restores order if something is not working as expected.

Mmm ... I don't have anything you don't have. Often it is not what we do, rather our attitude. Eg what the expectations are when we do it, and how attached we are to getting the result we want ... not too much and not too little, invites life's 'magical assistance.

I forgot to mention in the original post that I had tried a restart a couple times believing your approach would work. Unfortunately it didn't, until I read your response. And just like that another restart worked like magic. What are you, the iCloud whisperer? Thanks for the reminder to try a restart again.
