iPhone Calendar Save this event only doesn’t work when moving event anymore

I don’t remember what update it was, maybe the first iOS 18 update, at least 6 months ago.

After doing the update, when you drag to move a recurring event on the calendar w your finger, say from 3 to 4 pm, and it asks Save for this event only or Save for future events - and you select this event only - it doesn’t work.

If you move it again, it behaves as if you picked future events, and will ask again every time. Obviously, it’s only supposed to repeatedly ask if you picked future events, and didn’t ever do this in the past.

I feel like when I looked this up on social media and support when it started, other people noticed this too. Now I can’t find anything on it. And no update has solved this.

Any ideas on a workaround? Does anyone else have this issue, and if so why hasn’t Apple updated this very annoying issue?

iPhone 14 pro btw. And again I’m almost certain it started w os18, but if it matters, I have 18.5 now.
