I was having problems with Frontier app on my iPhone, Frontier advised me to remove the app and reinstall. However when I do that the app store shows iCloud icon and therefore it downloads from the cloud. I was advised to get rid of cache from this app which would mean a fresh download, not one from iCloud. How can I accomplish this?

There is no download from the cloud. Apps are not stored or kept in iCloud. Deleted apps are removed entirely and all their data is deleted from the device.
The cloud icon just signifies you have already purchased or downloaded it from the App Store in the past, but it’s currently not installed.
Tapping on the cloud icon gets you a fresh version from the App Store every time.

Thank you. I was only taking that step because Frontier customer service suggested it. The Frontier airline app does not find my booking, yet it is there. The customer service agent thought if I cleared the cache that might help. I've deleted the app and restore it a number of times. At least I now know that the iCloud icon doesn't mean it is downloading previous data or cache.
