Printer Proxy Dialogue Box keeps popping up when I try to print.

I just mapped a new printer to our mac studios at work using the admin account. The printing works successfully when logged in on that account. However when I log in on a different account, I keep getting a dialogue box that says, "Printer Proxy is trying to modify the printer settings. Enter a name and password of some in the Print Administrators Group to allow this." While the document does print, having this dialogue box continually come up is very disconcerting.

I did try setting the Network to Auto Proxy detection, re-adding the printer, checking to see if the sharing settings were set to Everyone Can Print (which they were), rebooting the machine, etc but no luck. In the past when I have added printers to our mac studios, this issue has never come up.

Anyone here have suggestions?

Discovery Protocol:

Bonjour is Apple's implementation of zero-configuration networking (zeroconf), a group of technologies that includes service discoveryaddress assignment, and hostname resolution. Bonjour locates devices such as printers, other computers, and the services that those devices offer on a local network using multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) service records.

The software comes built-in with Apple's macOS and iOS operating systems. Bonjour can also be installed onto computers running Microsoft Windows. Bonjour components may also be included within other software such as iTunes and Safari.

It was originally introduced in 2002 with Mac OS X 10.2 with the name Rendezvous. It was renamed in 2005 to Bonjour following an out-of-court trademark dispute settlement.[1][2]

This discovery depends strongly on IPv6 being able to look around the network and discover those devices in the background. If not using IPv6 for your networking, you should set IPv6 to Link-local only, NOT OFF.

When you do, you will find all available network Printers will self-populate in the Add-A-Printer dialog box, and they can easily be added just by clicking and allowing the driver to be 'found'.

There is a free third-party Utility called "Discovery" (that I use and recommend) that reveals what Bonjour Discovery Protocol has found:
