Free space display gone from Finder windows in Sonoma 14.7

Hi.

I just updated to Sonoma 14.7.6 (from 14.4). At the bottom of every Finder window, free space available on the boot drive used to be displayed. That's gone now, seemingly replaced by the path to the window's folder.

I really liked having that information at a glance, rather than having to go select the drive and then Get Info. (The path was always available anyway, and still is, through a simple secondary click in the title bar)

Is there a way to get that back? I've tried finder settings but nothing seems to do it.

Thanks!

[p.s. i'm reluctant to upgrade to Sequoia, having just gotten my GPGPU stuff going under Sonoma and wondering what that update might break]
