How to recover lost local mailboxes in MacBook Air running Sequoia 15.5?

I am running Sequoia 15.5 on a MacBookAir. All of my local mailboxes have disappeared. I have tried restarting my system to no avail.

Update - I did a force quit on email and restarted email and the mailboxes have reappeared. Don't know why, bt the problem is resolved at least for now.
