MacBook Air M2 Hinge Feels Stiff During First Open, Loosens After One Use
Hey everyone,
I'm facing an issue with the hinge of my MacBook Air M2. When I open it for the first time after it's been idle for a while, the hinge feels tight and doesn’t open with one hand. However, if I close it and then reopen it, it starts to open smoothly with one hand like normal.
There’s no noise, clicking, or any damage, but the first-time stiffness is consistent. I'm concerned if this could lead to a bigger problem later on.
What I’ve Tried:
- Made sure the laptop is clean around the hinge
- No physical damage or rough handling
- Restarted and tested after charging / unplugged
Questions:
- Is this normal behavior for new MacBook hinges?
- Should I visit an Apple Authorized Service Center?
- Can this be resolved under warranty?
Thanks in advance! 🙏
