Trade-in confirmation for old iMac with Apple

I traded in my old iMac 27" to be replaced with new iMac 27", but Apple thinks I still own the old iMac, especially the Apple tech support people. How do I let Apple know that I own only one iMac 27" purchased in year 2020?

To remove a device form your account

Go to Settings > [username] > [device name] on an iPhone or iPad.

or go to Apple menu > System Settings > [username] > [device name] on Mac.

Or log into https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage

Then in the Devices section click on your device.

To remove a device, click on the Device name and then click Remove from account.

The above should have happened if you used the following instruction before returning the old Mac: What to do before you sell, give away, trade in, or recycle your Mac - Apple Support

Also, if it was still covered by AppleCare, see: Cancel or change the payment method for your AppleCare plan - Apple Support
