The ”Remove Played Downloads”-feature doesn’t work anymore

Podcasts that I have manually downloaded in the Apple Podcasts app on my iPhone doesn’t automatically delete anymore after I have played them. It’s been like this for a couple of weeks, even though I’m running the latest version of iOS. Some episodes I listened to over a week ago is still downloaded.

I’ve tried the following:

1 - Go to Settings, scroll down to Podcasts, then turn off Remove Played Downloads and turn it on again.

2 - Restarting my iPhone.

3 - Deleting the Apple Podcasts app and reinstalling it.

…but nothing solves the issue. Downloaded podcasts remains downloaded no matter what. The only way to delete them is to by doing it manually.

I have submitted this as a bug report to Apple here: Feedback - Apple Podcasts - Apple and I also left a review on the App Store.

What else can I do? Why aren’t my podcasts automatically deleting? Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?
