Where are screenshots saved on iPhone SE after using side and Home button?

Google Gemini AI says OS 18.5 screwed-the-pooch per locating screenshots. I agree. I hear the "click" indicating a screenshot has been taken, but can't locate it in PHOTOS.

Help!

Taking a screenshot is discussed here:

Take a screenshot on iPhone - Apple Support

iPhone's don't have home buttons anymore, so this article tells how to work both kinds.

When I take a screenshot, it shows up immediately on the screen, in the lower left corner. If I tap on that, then I can choose to share it. If I ignore it, then the screenshot will appear with all the other pictures taken at the same time.

The thing that can get people is having the filter set to exclude screenshots.

Going to Media Types and selecting "Screenshots" should show them to you! What do you see there?

I seems like it would be among the most recent pictures, wouldn't it? The newest pictures are right in the middle of the screen when you open Photos, so they should be easy to find.

This all seems pretty simple to me. I mean, the newest things are right in the middle! You might want to consider using a different source for information.

Of course, by "newest," it could be most recently added or most recently taken, so you would need to sort accordingly. You sort in the Library view, a short scoot up from the Photos view:

Of course, you'd want to be sure that you haven't excluded screenshots from the view by checking the filter

Maybe choosing all items.

Or you could go to the Media Types section down by Utilites and just choose "Screenshots."

Which part gives you the most trouble?

Thanks for responding.

None of what you suggested works. (]<:)

I'm sort of a Luddite, so I suspect I'm doing something wrong.

I've never used the "take sceenshots of itself" per my coal-burning old iPhone SE. I wanted to screenshot a MESSAGE someone had sent me.

I was told via an AI thingamabob to hold down the button on my phone's right side and with the HOME button simultaneously. Doing so I heard a camera-ish "click." When I looked for the result: bupkis.

If I take a normal photo, IT shows up per usual as the most recent addition to PHOTOS. I just can't find the "self-take" screenshots.

Any other suggestions?

Again, I'm no Mr. Gadget...so I might be omitting something simple/obvious to others.

Unbelievable!

I literally spent hours trying to find out (from tons of places here and elsewhere online) what I was doing wrong. I kept being stymied by hearing a "click" signaling something had happened, but could never find the resulting screenshot.

I also never saw a thumbnail in the lower left-hand corner even though I followed instructions to "quickly press and release the Home button and the Side (or Power) button at the same time."

THEN, Oliver Sudden (<:) ...

...I stopped trying to press the buttons on my iPhone SE "simultaneously." I tried holding the HOME button down first, then the POWER button. No goodski. But when I held the POWER button first, then the HOME button: success!

Thought other Apple luddites like myself might want to know.
