Automatically copy or move sent emails to VIP folder in Apple Mail

Does anyone have a suggestion for how to automatically copy or move mail being sent to VIPs to their VIP folder upon sending? For example, if I send an email to "John" who is a VIP can the application place or copy the email in the "John" VIP folder instead of or in addition to the Sent folder?
