iPhone 16 Calendar alerts playing a different tune

Spent three phone calls seven hours on Apple Support sending multiple screenshots of everything on my phone to which the engineers then said oh gosh we didn’t receive those. I finally said forget it. I shouldn’t have to spend seven hours. Trying to figure out a sound problem. Anyone else having this issue?

Unable to change iPhone Calendar event notification sound Nothing I do will allow me to change the notification sound associated with Calendar events. This issue has persisted for me and others (a handful of others users on Apple Community forums have also posted this issue) for years, and over several consecutive iPhones. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and my iOS version is current: 18.3.2 (as of today’s date - 3/14/25). I don’t have any kind of antivirus or firewall/security-type app installed. Calendar events are the only type of notification sound or tone I’m unable to change. All others can easily be changed. This may seem like an insignificant issue, however, alert tone associated with calendar events is stuck on a pinball machine sound so it’s loud, obnoxious and annoying (for myself and others) It’s also inappropriate for use in work, theater, and other more sensitive settings. I appreciate any additional troubleshooting suggestions
