Siri has been listening to my conversations

This has happened on my iPad and phone; including the watch.

iPhone 16 Plus, iOS 18

Siri, just like every Personal Assistant is supposed to be listening to your conversations to identify the activation word. It is not turned on by default and would have had to be set up by you, and if you do not want that to happen, then all you need to do is turn it off. Have you done that?

If the problem is that you are noticing false activations from words such as "serious" with the emphasis on "SERIous" or "Shirley", then change the activation word to "Hey Siri" where you will see less false activations.

Try using an Alexa device when you have a family member named "Alexis".

Phones track. Social media tracks. Apps track. Major organizations buy payment purchasing data, too. All of this can lead to early pregnancy detection, among other revelations we might prefer being private.

But since this is probably about the Siri settlement (also known as the Lopez Voice Assistant Class Action Settlement), read this: https://www.lopezvoiceassistantsettlement.com/
