About 50% of the time, when I open Podcasts on my Mac, no podcasts will play. There's no improvement when I close and re-open it. The Podcast app downloads the narrative descriptions of the podcasts in the line up but will not stream. At the same time, I'm able to stream in Music or from Safari on YouTube, etc. What gives?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 15.5
Now Podcasts won't play at all - no problem with Music app nor with playing Youtube videos on Safari - so not a connectivity issue. But the Podcast app downloads the icons and keeps the most recent lists up to date - but whenever I click on play ... nothing happens.
I can't uninstall the app and download again as Podcasts comes with the MacOS as a system app. I have no problem playing Podcasts on my other devices from the same iCloud account (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, etc) - just not on my Mac. Help please
