Unable to update HomePod even after factory reset

Hello.

I've got 2 HomePods ver1, one of them I bought a month ado (used). When I got home, I could not connect my new Homepod to home app, so I did factory reset. After that, the connection to the home app was successful but the version is old (12.4). New HomePod is working fine but I can't make a pare because I've got an issue with updating. Update status shows downloading 2,72 GB and this has been going on for days and nothing is happening.

I have tried resetting HomePod to factory settings again several times but it doesn't help.

Does anyone know what else I can try to fix it?

12.4 is very old from about 6 years ago and is on the old Home Architecture, so it will take significantly longer to finally begin installing 18.5. It’s too big of a jump to go from an OS this many versions ago. Sometimes it needs to be on a later version to support installing the newer ones. There’s not much you can do to speed this up but just wait and hope it finally does. Resetting it isn’t going to aid in this.
