Why won't HomePod Mini connect to Starlink?

I know the proper procedure to move my HomePod to a different wifi connection, but it will not connect. Is the HomePod not compatible with Starlink? As a workaround I connected a separate router to the Starlink router and have my HomePod connected to it, but I would rather not have to use a separate router.
