iMac G4 Purchase Date Lookup

I recently found a G4 iMac running Mac OS X Panther and set it up. I was just wondering if there was any way to check the purchase date because Apple's serial number lookup doesn't work for products that old. I believe there's no way to do this but I wanted to make sure.
