icloud email attachment issues

This has been a noted Apple issue for years, iCloud emails attachments problems. Why has this not been resolved? I was able to successfully send ICloud emails with attachments using my IPhone 6, that IOS software could no longer be updated. Just recently updated to a newer IPhone, with current IOS software, and cannot send emails without attachments either missing or discombobulated. The same problem using an IPad with current IOS software. Spent a week speaking with 3 Senior Tech Advisors, it was suggested to use this forum to get the attention of the Apple. This is not a problem using gmail.

iPhone SE, iOS 18

For years, iCloud Mail has had persistent issues with sending email attachments — a problem that remains unresolved even in the latest iOS versions. On older devices like the iPhone 6 running legacy iOS, attachments sent via iCloud Mail worked reliably. However, after upgrading to a newer iPhone and iPad with current software, attachments now often fail to send, arrive corrupted, or are missing entirely. This issue is isolated to iCloud Mail; other services like Gmail handle attachments without any problems. Despite spending a week working with multiple Senior Apple Advisors, the issue remains unresolved, and I was advised to raise visibility through public forums.

This appears to be a widespread problem affecting many users, yet Apple has not publicly acknowledged it or offered a solution. Troubleshooting steps like resetting accounts, reinstalling apps, or updating devices have no effect. Workarounds — such as using Gmail, third-party mail apps, or sending attachments through iCloud.com — confirm the issue lies specifically with the iCloud Mail system and its integration with current iOS. Users deserve a stable, reliable mail experience on Apple devices, and it’s time this long-standing bug receives proper attention and resolution.
