Can I use iTunes on Windows 11 without Apple Music?

I have recently updated my pc to windows 11 and transferred I my music folder (which includes the iTunes folder) and iTunes is working as before.

But I have recently found out that apple music and apple device will take over from iTunes.

I do like my music on my iPhone and my wife's iPhone, but am reluctant to move to Apple Music as it will change the way we like to listen to music (i.e not streaming).

Also we would have to sign up to this for a monthly amount, is there a way of using apple music, so I don't have to subscribe and still have our music on our phones?

The Apple Music/TV/Devices apps all contain code the suppresses iTunes, leaving it only able to manage audiobooks and podcasts. All three must be removed for iTunes to function normally. Unless you really relish having the reduced feature set of Apple Music I recommend reverting to iTunes.

The Apple Music app should not be confused with the Apple Music subscription service (but frequently is). Who would have thought giving different things the same names would create problems?
