How can I delete shared photos from my Photos library?

Recently discovers that shared photos have all of a sudden appeared in my Library.

These are photos that have been sent of me through SMS text.

Some from 10 years ago.

No change of settings from my end and I’m not on the cloud.

How can I remove them, not go though 10k photos in Library and delete one by one.

That depends.

Is this on an iPhone, an iPad, or a Mac? What version of iOS/iPadOS/macOS?

Did you recently upgrade your system or change your settings?

If, for example, you recently upgraded to iOS 18.5 on an iPhone, you might have enabled the "Shared With You" filter in the Library view. (It is off by default.) You can check by scrolling the screen until the large word "Photos" at top left changes to "Library", tapping the double arrows, and tapping "Filter" to see if "Shared With You" is checked. If those instructions don't match what you see on screen, you are not on an applicable system version.
