imac 2017 bluetooth stopped working (I think with an update)

I have a 2017 Intel Core i5 iMac running Ventura 13.7.6. The computer kept prompting me that it was going to restart overnight to update, but I always kept it working through the night. I finally restarted it yesterday and I guess it updated. Now my upper left hand bluetooth icon has a solid white line through it. I tried everything suggested in a google search: I option clicked on it and it says version v0 c0 and there are no options to click on. When I go to system settings, I can turn it on, but it doesn't show any bluetooth devices, even though I have like 10 around the computer. There is nothing to click on. I also reset the bluetooth module and reset the config files. Nothing. Why would bluetooth suddenly stop working? I need it for my work-from-home job, as I use the wireless keyboard and mouse with a mirrored screen across my room. I'm really frustrated that bluetooth would just stop working...please help!
