Can I change the default markup settings when editing a photo on my iPhone?

Is there any way to change the default markup settings when editing a photo?

e.g I want squares with a red line and no fill as default. I want a red arrow as default, not black.

others have asked about having a filled in black box over sensitive information to imitate redaction.

In order to do these things, a user must click the 3 dots, select markup then hit the plus sign, then click on the square, change the colour from black to red, then click on the button to invert it from just a perimeter to a filled in square.

since these are features I use quite often, is there any way to just have these markup options in the main markup window with the pencils and erasers etc? In other words, to default to these.

I don't know of a way to make those options available by default, but you can suggest that directly to Apple for future versions of iOS Photos through their formal channel for such matters: Feedback - Photos - Apple

Don't expect a direct reply, but Apple says they have staff assigned to read and tabulate submissions through that portal and forward the results to decision makers in the company.

I started wondering if you could copy and paste settings, so I started playing around. Well, you can't copy & paste-- drat.

But it seems to me that, when I changed to a magenta outline, then that setting was still there when I went to the next picture. I didn't do any inverting or anything complicated, but I got the magenta outline that would work for circles and squares and whatever shape I picked.

Is that close to what you wanted?
