Unable to update my Apple Watch Series 10 to watchOS 11.5

Purchased apple watch 10 (GPS) 46mm in April of this year currently running 11.3.1. My iphone is an XR iOS v 18.5.

both connected to wifi, same wifi connection.

Both plugged in overnight.

Update continually fails every time it tries to update to 11.5.

I have followed all the suggestions on the site so I'm not sure what to do. It never gives any indication as to why it fails, just that it couldn't update and it will try again.

The watch is independently connected to the wifi according to the site it should be able to update with out the phone.

Previously had an iwatch4 and had no issues updating the watch with this phone.

Any suggestions? I'm considering taking it to the apple store but I hate that whole process with the one and only store in our area.
