Need an easier way to search photos.

I understand that the photos library contains ALL my photos and that deleting one deletes it from any album I have put it in. I have a VAST number of photos and don’t need to search through most of them when I’m looking for something. (Many are from old real life albums I’ve recently scanned in and put into digital albums. They are truly cluttering up my main all-photos library!) Has anyone figured out a work around that would allow us to make this easier? Let’s say I have 8000 photos and 4000 of them are irrelevant to any searching I want to do of the rest. I suppose I could create an album of just the relevant 4000, but then I’d have to remember to move every relevant new photo into it every time. Wow! That seems awfully cumbersome! What ideas have others tried that work better???
