Restored Logic Pro X files fail to open original contents on macOS

I've been asked to restore a logic file from our backups (VEEAM). When I try to open the restored file, it acts as if I've opened a new file. There's no warning or error that generates, but just prompts to add a midi/audio track.

I'm struggling to see an issue with the file/contents.

I've looked at the contents of the folder and there doesn't appear to be anything obvious missing in the restored version. (pic1, top is the restored, bottom is original)

I've also tested by opening the file in logic's built in file browser (pic 2). This crashes the program fairly consistently. When I can load the file, there are no files inside.

In files that have multiple backups included, I've tried reverting to previous backups and the same behaviour happens.

I've tested opening the files locally instead of over a network share, and with an admin account - same behaviour.

To note: all files are worked from a windows SMB file server. This has not caused any issues in the past. I believe that backups I have made with VEEAM in the past were not problematic either, however it has been a while since I last needed to.

Is there anything that I'm missing that is causing this issue? How can I use these restored files? if there is no solution, I'll have to reassess how I back up logic files.

This should all be with Logic 11.1.2, mac mini (m1) The files may have been created on an earlier version of Logic 11

I don't know anything about "windows SMB file server" or VEEAM. Storing/transferring Logic Projects to volumes/server that are not formatted with APFS / MacOS extended or ExFAT can lead to file corruption. The same is valid by working with Logic directly on ExFat-formatted Volumes.

Some thoughts to consider:

The "Project File Backups"-folder inside the project file does not include a complete session. The files only work in conjunction of a (individual) main project file. You could copy one of the numbered Project File Backups-files into the session you are working on. But please note the hierarchy and the numbering.
