iTunes Windows - How to remove music list on device?

Having trouble clearing the 'Music' list in iTunes > Devices > My iPhone > Music, which is supposed to show music on the device. This list remains, even after I have deleted all music from the iPhone. And whilst it remains in this list I can no longer add the song/album back onto the device (I delete from Settings > Apps > Music > Downloaded music > Edit > All Songs).

Is there a way to clear this list in iTunes? I managed to do it previously. Can't seem to get it to clear now though :-/ I usually just drag/drop albums to the iPhone (under Devices in iTunes) then delete albums from the iPhone when I want to change up the music on there.

Cheers for reply, turingtest2. I've followed the advise in that link, which is how I usually remove music from iPhone if I want to start again dragging and dropping albums back to the iPhone. Usually works, occasionally I get the issue where a list of music is left behind in iTunes > Devices > iPhone > Music.

May have to go the backup > restore iPhone route. Bit of a rigmoral but maybe it will be okay once I've done this. The list did clear previously. But not sure if it was something I managed to do or it just sorted itself out.

The other option, the way I used to transfer iTunes music to iPhone, is to go to iTunes > click on iPhone from top/left of menu bar > Music > then select individual albums I want to transfer then 'Sync' Was okay when library was small. As it's grown this way has become more and more tedious. Anyway, whatever works with iTunes on Windows I guess!! :-/
