How to add more than one VIP in my email

Hi,

I have an iPhone 13. I want to add more VIPs to my email, however, it has only allowed me only one VIP😒.

When I click on ‘ add VIP ‘ it sends me to my contacts. When I choose a contact, it just kicks me out & returns to the ‘ add VIP ‘ page without adding the person I chose.

I’m not at all tech savvy so please kindly reply very simply 😆
