Two e-mail accounts on both my MacBook Pro M4 and my iPhone 14.

I have two e-mail accounts for same ISP on my iPhone. Both have the same number of e-mails and also they have all the folders with my data in them. Both are labeled "Inbox". Question 1: Can I delete one of these and how should I go about it.

On my MacBook Pro M4 I have a "Inbox" with all my e-mails and my folders. I also have a Comcast inbox wihich is my ISP but it doesn't have all my e-mails. It does have all my folders. Question 2: How can I fix this so my ISP is the only inbox and it has all my e-mails and folders.

Question 3: This is not so big an issue but the number of e-mails I get do not show up in the app in the Mac tray.

It is interesting as well that I can no longer get my e-mails by logging into my ISP Comcast. I think these issues are all related.l. I am a new MacBook Pro user and very confused. Any help the community can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 15.5

Given the reported duplication of messages and counts, you seem to have one account, entered twice.

You can delete either or both of those without effecting the mail stored on the mail server(s).

To verify this, look in the account settings for each, and see if the account settings (mail server login credentials, and the incoming and outgoing servers and server ports) are duplicated.

As for the display, Mail app settings can be configured to show the new message counts in the dock icon, or not.
