What happens when you press and hold the volume up button during the call? Does it happen with just one person or everyone? Is this just with the top speaker, or also the bottom speaker? How about audio other than calls, does that sound normal?

Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Volume Limit. · Turn on Limit Maximum Volume, then drag the slider to specify the maximum volume.
