Where do I enter my Gmail password in Apple Mail?

I've changed my gmail password. Now apple mail keeps asking me to enter the password, but when I go to email accounts I have 'description' and 'name' options - no 'password' box to fill..

Can anyone let me know how or where I enter the password for Gmail?

Thanks

Delete the account and add it back. That's the fastest way to do it.

If that doesn't help, all you need respond with is something along the lines of "Thank you. Unfortunately, it didn't work."

Perhaps try what I would do. Involves using methods

& some unconventional, to attempt/find resolutions.

While I have considerable experience with Apple

software & hardware, I avoid newest nowadays.

Instructions differ, when using Apple mail between OS

versions; so that's an issue where self-help works OK.

(And where I live ~ is not exactly always on the grid.)

If you'd mention the actual product that you need help

with, then a plausible answer may be found. Be that an

iPhone/iOS; or mac. 'OS specific' to the hardware in use.

Something I happened across could help; like any trial

and error, to keep notes is often better than no ideas.

Then you enable others who might help, to guess where

you're stuck; analog and conventional thinking can help.

Perhaps you need understand instructions 'How to ask Questions' here.

Then you could start a new thread, & clearly state the matter.. Deal?🤣

I'm just playing human. ~ If you cannot state an intelligent question,

maybe you need A.I. to assist. As duckduckgo should offer you that.

Perhaps you need to keep notes (paper) for those details..

Since you may need to use 2FA with your Google Account

and Gmail among others. ~ And use a computer to login.

I do and so I also have several layers of notes; sometimes

I can skip and use newer steps. ~ However online security

for banks & insurance, often has their own too; I've found.

And I hate having to get my phone out and turn it on, to

further their Two Factor B.S. since most security now is

more trouble, yet seems to be not truly secure!!

Their ideas now include use of Devices, too.

I gave up on Apple Mail & Siri; and login by browser often.

You can use a standard web browser and login to Google.

Their main portal takes you directly into Google Accounts.

This gives me a headache; so much so, that I've lost track!

Google might send an email and try your phone, to confirm.

As a fellow user, with older iPhones and non-current Macs

there's lots of newer stuff that won't work here. Cheers!

Thanks, but this doesn't even address my question. Telling me I need notes and your personal experiences wouldn't help anyone with the same problem resolve it. If you don't know, perhaps better not to answer?

"I gave up on apple mail" - therefore you cannot give me any solution... smh

I'm still not sure you entirely understood the question.

As I advised, if you don't know the answer, it's pointless trying to give one, or make a little too many assumptions and asides to the contrary.

The device details you are unable to find, are at the bottom of my original post - as is usual here.
