FCP not letting computer "download additional content"

In System Settings/General go to Software Update. It should be available there.

Does the Final Cut Pro trial have any limitations?

Final Cut Pro Additional Content, which includes over 1,300 royalty-free sound effects for use in your projects, isn’t available in the Final Cut Pro trial. The trial is fully functional otherwise.

Is it the trial version of FCP? I believe the trial won't download additional content.

I did find a FAQ page on Apple's site that states the additional content is not available for the free trial version, but I just downloaded it to a free trial version. So, figure that one out.

Yes, this is what it does. It should take a minute to search for updates, then either present them, or if there are none it just says your Mac is up to date. If it states your Mac is up to date, then you have all the additional content already.

The link up there says nothing about additional content not being included with the trial.

What's more, I just downloaded the trial on a MBP that has never had FCP installed on it. Additional content and VO recording ARE ABSOLUTELY available in the free trial version. I'm actually looking at it in front of me now.

Interesting bit of trivia; If you copy the additional content manually from one Mac to another (very long tedious process, not recommended), it works. But that's a lot of effort, and you have to know where everything is.

Yes, trial version will download additional content. At least last time I installed a trial version on someone's Mac a couple years ago.

The voice over record function might also not be available. At least it wasn't the last time I tried it.
