Moving Logic Projects to an external HD

As mentioned, by default Logic will send files to a certain path.

That can be changed in the "Save Dialog" window. I personally like to send my files to a folder on my Desktop. In this example, I will hit "Cmd+D" in order to change the folder path.

I also like to save important folders in the sidebar area for quick access.

I hope I am understanding you correctly....

Please make sure the Logic Pro application is closed entirely (Quitting "Logic Pro").

Loads of people close a window and they think Logic Pro has quit but it has not. The window is closed but Logic Pro is still open. Anyhow, once you fully quit then you can move Logic Pro folders/sessions with ease. If the Logic Pro application is open, you will not be able to fully transfer projects as the upload process just hangs.

Your session files should be saved here (unless you specified a different location):

/Users/yourcomputername/Music/Logic

If Logic Pro is closed, I would try checking the Permissions on the folders/files themselves. Can you click on them and check by hitting the key combo Cmd+i? Might as well give Logic Pro Full Disk Access as well in Settings.

Is your HD properly formatted with the recommended format APFS (or the old school MacOs extended)?

Moving project should as easy as moving text files in comparison to the logic sample library.

How can we specify a different location for our session files?

I'm not trying to hijack the thread, just wanting a completion on what you mentioned.
