Can I reset my MacBook password through my Apple account?

We’ve managed to mess up changing the password on my partner’s MacBook Air (Apple silicon). We’ve gone through the steps in help but without success. And we can’t remember the Account or administrator password. So it’s all going swimmingly!

When the Apple account is unfrozen (tomorrow, hopefully) can we use that to reset the MacBook password? If not, what can we try?
