Final Cut Pro Update for OS Ventura 13.7.6

Final Cut Pro recently caused a major crash on my 2017 iMac. The new set up is now running on Ventura 13.7.6

I purchased my Final Cut Pro back in 2017, running always without a problem. But unfortunately that version (10.3.4) is not compatible with Ventura. So I followed the link to download the recommended version 11.1.1 from the App Store.

But apparently this requires macOS 14.6 or later, which is impossible for me to install because of the 2017 iMac model.

Now I went into my list of purchased software, clicked on Final Cut Pro to get the best options for an update ... just to end up again on the latest version 11.1.1, which again is not compatible with Ventura. So I am running in circles.

Question: which is the latest compatible Final Cut Pro Update for Ventura and how do I get it?

Thanks for any help in advance!

You can get the proper version for your OS from the App Store.

Make sure you are logged in with your Apple ID used to purchase FCP.

Click on your account at the bottom left, and find FCP amongst your purchases. Click to Download. You will be warned that the current version is not compatible, and asked if you want the most recent that works on your system. Of course you do.

This has to be done from your purchases page, and NOT by searching for FCP in the App Store in general.

Hi Luis,

Thanks for your time!

It's exactly what I did before. I have the list of my purchases in front of me. Final Cut Pro doesn't have a 'Download'-Button, only an 'Open'-Button. What happens is, I end up on the page of the current version 11.1.1, which requires macOS 14.6 or later. But I don't get the option to choose the most recent version that works on my system. All I get is the message: 'In order to use "Final Cut Pro", you need to update to the latest version. The version of Final Cut Pro installed on this Mac is not compatible with macOS Ventura. You have "Final Cut Pro 10.3.4. Download version 11.1.1 for free from the App Store.

And then I have the choice between 'Search App Store' or 'Cancel'. Searching the App Store brings me back to the page I just left: Final Cut Pro 11.1.1

So the only option I get is to update to the latest version, not the most recent that works on my system. And the latest version is apparently not compatible with Ventura 13.7.6

All I want to know, which version is compatible and how to get it!

It seems to me I can't win! There must be a simple way to download a compatible version ... you would think.
