Trying to connect my iPhone my brother printer I just received it says I have to download IP 17.0 It won’t work my doing something wrong

It mentions a Brother iPrint&Scan app that only requires iOS 15.0 or later. It may be worth investigating to see if it can be used instead of the app that requires 17.0 or later.
Per your other thread, you can’t download iOS 17.
The iPhone 7 you own doesn’t support iOS 17.
If the brother printer application is for iOS 17 or newer, you will have to buy a newer iPhone that runs iOS 17 or newer.
Are you getting that notification from your iPhone or your Brother printer? Please be clear.
Both your iPhone and the Brother printer must be on the same WiFi network. The Brother printer must support Apple’s AirPrint protocol. Check the printer’s user guide.
If by IP 17.0 you mean iOS 17 then your iPhone 7 Plus cannot install it per Jonathan Burger.
