I can’t send sms messages now checked strings and pinger was selected for sending sms messages but I never switched it

iPad Air, iPadOS 18
To be clear the iPad has never been able to send SMS messages without assistance from an iPhone. Do you have the iPhone still set up to forward those messages to the iPad?
