Mac Mini M4 24GB and Dell DEU2724DE Monitor color contrast issues

Hello,

I am getting this weird issue where I cannot see grey things like the Google search bar and password boxes (see images below). I tried adjusting the contrast, resetting to factory settings, updating firmware and drivers, adjusted color profiles in mac settings, but the issue still occurs. Colors are normal though when I plug in a windows laptop. Mac OS is up to date, I tried contacting Dell but Dell says contact apple. The display is a Dell DEU2724DE Monitor. When I plug in a windows computer, the colors are normal. I have also tried connecting the mac mini with other displays and the issue still persist. TIA!

What cable connection are you using between the Mac mini and Dell display...?

These new Mac mini's do not do well using cheap long poorly shielded video cables.

Test a short high speed 8K USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable.

Or optionally a short ultra high speed HDMI 2.1 cable.

It's all a matter of display calibration/adjustment. If you adjusted the display itself to get a good image from the PC, then it is quite likely those settings will not work with the Mac (or any other device) because you were using the display to correct for the PC's video card and drivers. You need to set the display at some nominal setting for brightness and turn off any "auto" features. Then use the computers to "calibrate/adjust" for proper viewing. Both Windows and Macs have tools in the OS to make these corrections and create profiles.

No I specifically got this display to use with the Mac mini. The first thing I plugged in was the brand new mac mini M4 and the issue occurred day 1 without me making any adjustments. I only tested with the windows PC to make sure that the display panel itself was not bad. I did not make any adjustments while plugging in the windows PC. Also, I did use the built-in Apple display calibration, but it did not fix anything. All of the monitor settings have been set to factory default.
