iPhone stuck in boot loop- Apple logo shows for about 5 seconds then goes blank for 5 seconds- and it keeps repeating

iPhone 12. (It might say iPhone 15 but that’s the device I’m posting this on)

Hard reset is impossible. Unable to plug into PC as it’s not on long enough for the PC to detect it.

Please please PLEASE don’t tell me to ‘press the volume up button, press the volume down button, hold the lock button till the Apple logo appears’

The Apple logo appears every 5 seconds regardless. Pressing these buttons does absolutely nothing.

How do I get it into recovery mode without that button combination? It seems really ridiculous to use a button combination that requires light pressing, meaning the phone needs to have some capacity to run in order to process the pressing of the buttons.

How on earth would that ever work for anyone stuck in a boot loop? But it seems to be the only answer I see on the internet,

Whatever happened to holding the lock and volume up button for a reset?
