FWIW I don't get "error code 0" when trying to copy 8 Gb movie to FAT32 disk. Instead I get this in recent macOS versions:

Error code 0 occurs when you try to move a file greater than 4 GB to a FAT32 formatted drive. You either have to reformat the drive to ExFAT if you want to be able to use the drive with Windows or Linux, or don't try to copy a file greater than 4 GB to the drive.

How full are the internal and external drives..?

Control (right) click on the drive icons and select Get Info.

If there is plenty of space on both drives..?

Eject and disconnect the external drive from the Mac.

Restart the Mac, reconnect the external drive and try again.

Choose all the files you want to " Move " not " Copy "

Hold the ⌘ key will Move the files from location A to location B

Understand, Moving using this method, will Remove the files from location A

Hello, exactly how are you trying to move them?

How is the external drive formatted? You would also get the error if it's formatted as NTFS.

Just to add, you can also get the error if the files exceed the available space on the drive.
