Logic keeps crashing after the new update 11.2

I updated my Logic to 11.2 and I´m running MacOS Sequoia. After the Logic update, my projects keep crashing randomly with the below error code. I also tried to start a new project but no luck.

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

I systematically updated all my 100 plus plugins and it looks like the issue was finally solved when I installed iszotope relay, which appears to be a recently released component that helps plugins communicate with each other. I'll be certain over the next few days if there are no more crashes when opening large projects involving many plugins. Previously, Logic crashed 99% of the time early in the loading phase.

Make sure to notify Apple right away... this could be extremely valuable. It's the most effective method to catch the attention of the Logic Pro team.

Submit Feedback to Apple:

Report your issues to Apple. Fixes may not be implemented until they are reported. These forums are user-to-user platforms, and Apple’s involvement is limited to their own schedule. While Apple may not respond directly, the more feedback received, the better understanding they gain of existing issues and potential updates for future versions. Without reporting your concerns, Apple will not be aware of them.

As far as advice, I believe you are having a plug-in issue:

Isolate Third-Party Plugins: This is a crucial step.

  • Start Logic Pro in "safe mode" (without Audio Units): When launching Logic Pro, hold down the Control key. You should get a dialog asking if you want to launch without Audio Units. Choose "Don't Launch Audio Units." If Logic Pro runs stably this way, a plugin is almost certainly the culprit.
  • Disable plugins systematically: If safe mode works, start re-enabling your third-party plugins one by one or in small groups until the crash recurs. This will help you identify the problematic plugin. Once identified, check for updates for that specific plugin.
  • Check for Plugin Updates: Even if Logic Pro is updated, your third-party plugins might need updates to be compatible with your current Logic Pro version and macOS.

I've subsequently found more plugins to update. It's difficult to keep on top of all version numbers on my system and what's on the plugin websites. Nevertheless, I got there in the end. HOWEVER, I was still having problems. THEN I resorted to cutting and pasting the Thread 0 section and the few lines above that from the crash report into ChatGPT, asking it to find potential solutions, which I then tried. After a few iterations it became clear which plugin was left causing problems despite being up to date. It was SoundID's VoiceID. Either way, getting ChatGPT to interpret crash logs is a game-changer for me. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Hi, you weren't specific about what you were doing when it crashed, but here's my experience and what I figured out.

Every time I clicked on the Smart Controls button (left of the Mixer button), Logic Pro immediately crashed with a crash report. I reported it to Apple and here's the ADDENDUM info I sent them later.

The crash ONLY occurs if the selected track contains a Session Player, in my case, Session Keyboard.

Could that be the cause of your crashes, too?

As soon as a non-Session track is selected, the Smart Controls button worked as expected and Logic Pro doesn't crash.

Apple's been alerted, so no doubt, they're already looking into it.

Hope that helps,

John
