RCS messages randomly stay silent on my iPhone 16 Pro Max

Text notifications are silent on a random basis. Apple store cannot explain it after viewing every possible setting (plus restoring phone entirely-and not from backup). All texts have proper sound when I turn off iMessage and RCS.

Why are text notification sounds inconsistent on my iPhone 16 Pro? I have a new iPhone 16 Pro and the sound notification when I get a text is so inconsistent. No iPhone SMS Notification Sound I do not get a notification sound for SMS texts, specifically automated texts. I do get a visual notification, just no alert sound. This is very specific to SMS texts. All other alert sounds work fine including iMessage alerts, i.e. any messages from iPhones. There are no other symptoms. I cannot find any settings that are unique to SMS/MMS. I've had this problem forever (at least a year) through multiple reboots and iOS version upgrades. I'm looking for any ideas!

How can I fix missing iMessage notification sounds on iPhone? I have been using 2 different phones. On the first one my i message randomly stopped sending me notification sound when receiving a imessage. I got new phone.
