Can I recover files when Numbers crashes after upgrading to Ventura?

I've just upgraded from OS10.13 to Ventura and now, each time I open Numbers and I attempt to open a recently opened file (one from pre-upgrade) Numbers instantly quits. The same thing happens when I attempt to make a new spreadsheet. Short of reverting to 10.13 what can I do to alleviate this? The same thing is happening with Pages. All files are backed up on Time Machine.

For a good experience with Numbers you need to be running a reasonably recent version of the app on a reasonably recent version macOS.

Most of us here have long since moved on from Ventura, making it difficult, if not impossible, to make helpful suggestions.

You might want to go to the Mac App Store and see if it offers a more recent version of Numbers than you have.

And, of course, install the most recent version of macOS that your hardware can support.
